I was at Ninety Degrees bar again last night, this time for an FHM High Street Honeys party. Former winners Hayley Parsons and Charlotte McKenna mingled with partygoers and four of this year's hopefuls.

If I was casting for the role of a brooding genius in a dark, moody tv drama, I would give Jos a shout. Top guy, who I've not seen for ages. These from a night out in Kingston in November 2002.

In April 2006 I had an amazing couple of weeks in Laos, the highlight of which was spending a few days hanging out with some trainee monks. Extract from my diary here.

Another one from the archive: sea kayaking in the Abel Tasman National Park.

The photograph on the front page of yesterday's paper was one of mine. Police have issued metal detectors to 60 bars and clubs in Southampton city centre in another initiative to make it a safer place to be at night.

Corey and I went on patrol around Southampton's nightspots with the police last night in a new initiative designed to reassure the public, discourage trouble-makers and reduce alcohol-fuelled incidents. It was brilliant fun having an excuse to talk to anyone and everyone, and the police were all a great laugh too.

I had the dubious pleasure of photographing a freshers' ball at the university last night.

In February 2006, Andy, Kirsten and I had a great weekend in Hanmer Springs, New Zealand, full of walking, climbing, horse-riding, eating, drinking, chatting and crazy golf. He posted some of his photos on Facebook the other day, which brought back happy memories and prompted me to look for this photograph in my archive.

Farley Mount was one of Beck's Nan's favourite places. We took Archie up there yesterday afternoon to experience it for himself. He loved it, but found the long grass quite hard work, and then went to explore the woods.

I've begun work on AJM 2007, which means choosing artwork as well as music. This was the cover pic for AJM 2004, which musically I think is the best of the set.
